Low admin costs:

When I founded this organisation in 1997 it was with the simple philosophy that it must have low administration costs, high achievement on the ground and never to expand beyond the size where efficiency and cost-effectiveness are inevitably challenged.

We do not seek or receive governmental funding because we do not agree with their priorities and are not prepared to dilute our high levels of achievement to comply. Our funds come entirely from donations from the members of the public worldwide and private trusts and foundations in the U.K. and we owe it to our donors to ensure their money is well-spent.

We achieve that by having no offices in the U.K. (our team work from home); in Africa we enjoy the support of the communities in which we work and they make a massive volunteer input into our programmes.
